Two weeks are in the books in fantasy football, and if you’ve been able to make it past two weeks without an injury on your year-long roster – good for you.
It’s been crazy the number of players hurt thus far, which is why some people are happy moving away from year-long leagues into one-day fantasy leagues to try and win some quick money.
Today we try and help you if you are in a year-long league with some solid week 3 players that could still be available on your roster.
QB Nick Foles (Rams) – St.Louis had a tough time last week against the Redskins on the road, but don’t lose hope in them and in Foles. Against the Skins he threw for just 150 yards and a touchdown, but the Redskins had something to prove and their defense could be better than expected. He plays the Steelers at home this week, and could have a productive day against a team that is still suspect in the secondary.
RB Matt Jones (Redskins) – Back to that Redskins-Rams game from last Sunday, running back Matt Jones had his coming out party, going off for 19 carries, 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also caught three passes for 23 yards. If you’re in a bidding system don’t go overboard, as Alfred Morris is still the number one back in DC, but there’s room for Jones, and based on his outing Sunday against the Rams, expect to see him get more carries.
WR Travis Benjamin (Browns) – Two weeks and three touchdowns? Yeah, it’s pretty obvious that the Browns have found, at least early in the season, a playmaker to help an offense that likely is going to be challenged to put up many points on a weekly basis. Benjamin is one of those fast wide outs (his nickname is ‘Rabbit’) that can pretty much never be overthrown. His big play late saved the Browns in their 28-14 win over the Titans Sunday after Tennessee clawed their way back into the game. He may only score three more TD’s the rest of the year, but as of now he’s worth a pickup.
