The OUCH! factor. Monday injury updates

Knowshon Moreno was sent to the IR today due to a torn ACL. With Willis McGahee’s constant hammy issues of late, bump upLance Ball on your list of players to chase this week.

Matt Cassel was said to need surgery on his hand but is still expected to play per Coach Todd Haley. Sounds to me like Haley is playing mind games so expect Cassel to miss time. Jackie Battle and Dexter McCluster should see each of their reps jump as the Chiefs will be forced to rely on the run game to carry them.

Mike Vick was confirmed as having two broken ribs yesterday but still played through it. He should be able to play next week barring any further irritation to the injury.

Steve Johnson suffered a shoulder injury but it is not considered serious. Based on his play for the rest of the game and the reps he missed I would say it isn’t as minor as Gailey is saying. Still, he will play through it but it may be wise to make sure you have a solid reserve in case Johnson re-injures himself next week.

The answer to Jackie Battle’s disappearance was answered today after the announcement he suffered a concussion on Sunday. Given the NFL’s super sensitivity to the issue of late, Battle will have to be cleared to play if he passes testing.

Not that he is on your roster, but Leonard Hankerson was placed on the IR today after tearing his labrum on Sunday. Gaffney is now the only Redskin receiver even considering.

Peyton Hillis has been ruled out already for Week 11 by coaches. Given the in-house issues with this team and Holmgren, don’t expect Hillis to do this team any favors by playing hurt. He will be free to test the market after the season and has his future to worry about.

Ladanian Tomlinson injured his knee last night and will have tests done today. At his age, this is a big deal if it is an ACL issue. Joe Mcnight will most likely be next in line to spell Greene.

The Sports Parlor is having a FREE $200 dollar contest this week for whoever picks the winner of the Eagles vs. Giants game and finishes with the highest score. This is their biggest FREE contest yet and will make Sunday night even more exciting! www.TheSportsParlor.com

So my kicker, d, and best WR are on bye this week. Gimmie some love Mr Destiny. I need a scrub D of the week. Was thinking the Patriots since Cassel is done and their backup is a stiff, your thoughts? Don’t waste time on the kicker but can you give me some scrubby WR to pu? I put in for Denarius Moore and Vincent Brown. Doubt I’ll get Moore but what about V Brown, can I play him this week? MY TRAIN HAS WRECKED I’m 5-5 and need some luck!

Do you think Ball truly has any value w. Tebow at QB? I doubt it

    • Mr. Destiny says:

We’ll start with Ball, Yes he has decent value given the Broncos ran the ball 55 times! Tebow only attempted 8 passes last week and this week faces a stout secondary. The problem here this week is the Jets have the horses to stack the box and run man coverage so it will limit Ball’s potential this week but long term he could wind up the lone back given McGahee’s injury issues. At WR Moore is by far the best option. Vincent Brown makes for a good play, but if guys like Doucet, Mike Jenkins, or Earl Bennett are available I would put a claim in for them as well behind Brown in case you don’t get him. Bennett is Cutler’s target of choice, Doucet is the red zone target, and Jenkins has been a steady 5-8 pt. guy week to week. The Chargers face the super hot defense of the Bears this week but Floyd does look to be out so Brown should find space.Still, you can’t be too high on him given he is the 4th option on this team behind Gates, Vjax, and Mathews. All the others are #1 or #2 options. Also, the conditions in Chicago are less than ideal for passing this time of year and I don’t see the Bears being able to handle Gates and V. Jax this week.Bottom line he may provide good numbers but he could just as easily bomb. All the others I spoke about are safer options. I love Pats D this week against Palko so you are right on with that pick.
