Week 8 Friday Injury Notes

Braylon Edwards did practice this week and could return to action. He still has yet to be named as a starter though so proceed with caution. He could be a decent waiver pick up and reserve in case you lose a starter in the coming weeks.

Beanie Wells has practiced on a limited basis but I doubt the Cards will rush him back against Baltimore. It was initially called a knee sprain and I can’t see him actually getting much playing time this week. Even if he does start, the poor Cards defense would limit his touches anyway since they will most likely abandon the run game once they are down.

If you haven’t heard already, Chris Cooley, Santana Moss, and Tim Hightower were all placed on I.R. this week.

Ben Watson and Mohamed Massoquoi are both suffering from concussion symptoms and will be questionable.

Peyton Hillis had a setback to his injury after practicing and is now Questionable for Sunday. Hardesty seems like the safer play.

Tashard Choice was limited in practice Thursday, leaving the door open for Demarco Murray to carry the load again. Still, word is the Cowboys are not ready to give Murray the long term job.

Local beat writers are saying Emmanuel Sanders will get the start over Antonio Brown if Hines Ward does not play. Brown has still been the more productive of the two and has been on the field more in passing situations.

Percy Harvin apparently has to undergo some more physical tests by team doctors before they clear him for Sunday’s game.

Matthew Stafford has practiced and is taking first team reps. He should be good to go.

On the other hand, Sam Bradford still has not practiced and is looking very doubtful. The Rams also have yet to activate Mark Clayton so it could be another week before we see either on the field.

Andre Johnson has officially been called a game time decision by Kubiak. I suspect he will play after practicing some and running routes on the side at full speed but unfortunately you will have to be glued to the net to find out come game time.

Like Percy Harvin, Joseph Addai will need clearance from the docs before he is given the green light to play this week.

Mark Ingram did not practice Wednesday or Thursday and looks Doubtful this week. Chris Ivory was said not to be ready for this game because he was not “in game shape”. Darren Sproles and Pierre Thomas will carry the load.

Brandon Jacobs was limited in practice this week but both he and Coughlin expect him to play Sunday. He could be on a limited count to work him back in.

Malcom Floyd did not practice Wednesday or Thursday nor did Mike Turner. The game isn’t until Monday night so they will have today and Saturday to get some work in. If neither does practice at least Saturday it should be a warning sign as to their availability.
