WR Deep Sleeper – Denarius Moore

I’m sure not many of you have heard this name – Denarius Moore. He is a 5th round rookie on the Al Davis’s crazies, the Oakland Raiders. Jacoby Ford was supposed to be the Oakland WR sleeper this year. But was Ford truly a sleeper going into 2011? His 2010 stats: 25 receptions, 440 yards, 2 TDs. Once he broke his hand his value tanked. I still think that Ford will be able to perform this year (the broken arm is a 2 weeks injury) so still consider drafting him late in the drafts. There is no doubt Jacoby is the most talented receiver on that roster.

However, this article is about yet another unknown Oakland WR. This is what I know about Denarius Moore. He is 6’0 and 195 lbs. He came from a college with a pedigree – Tennessee. Jason Campbell has given praise to Moore and compared him to Jacoby Ford. Moore has been lights out in camp. He managed to produce in his last year of college with crapola at QB: 981 yards and 9 TDs. He won’t produce at that level but 600 yards and 4 TDs is totally feasible. With the loss of Zach Miller and signing of Kevin Boss Oakland’s TE play has changed dramatically from pass catching to blocking. This means that Campbell will be forced to throw to the unproven cast of characters at WR. Those WRs include Denarius Moore, a injured Jacoby Ford, Louis “been arrested lately” Murphy, Darius “can’t catch anything” Heyward-Bey and Chaz “Mr Always Injured” Schilens.

This sounds insane but Denarius Moore has a chance to line up as the #2 WR with Ford opening day. Al Davis has done crazier things…

I love Jacoby Ford this year. What do you think about Riley Cooper?

Jacoby Ford is the best player on a bad team— no doubt. But I wouldn’t got riding him to a ff championship 🙂

Riley Cooper is a wild card. Honestly, I think he is worthless. You are making the statement assuming Maclin won’t be able to go full force bc of his illness. If that occurs and Maclin can’t go then Cooper’s value skyrockets. I doubt that happens— Maclin will play.
