Top Three Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Rookies

It is that time of year again and here is a quick breakdown of my three fav rookie wideouts. There are many more WRs rookies I will cover in the upcoming weeks. But, these three are the only ones I have confidence in.

AJ Green WR CIN – He is my stone cold mortal lock as a fantasy WR with impact. He has stepped into a good situation in Cincy. Not because Cincy is good but because they are going to be forced to throw the ball (I envision multiple games down double digits). Bruce Gradkowski was a solid QB when he had much less to work with in Oakland. Lewis is already singing Green’s praises saying he is an upgrade over Ocho and TO. Bottom line is that Green is catching everything thrown his way. He is 6’4 and 211 lbs. That is a good size for a WR with surprising speed. Don’t trust me? Even Doc over at Razzball is predicting 5 TDs and 825 yards. Granted, they ain’t WR #1 numbers but they are impressive for a rookie. I’m a bit more rosy I see a 1000 yard rookie campaign.

Julio Jones WR ATL – My ex-keeper leaguemates have been rambling about this jackass for 3 months now! I’m not a hater just not a firm believer. How much impact can this cat have with a Roddy White getting all those balls? He is going to make the defenses just a bit more honest. He is a upgrade over Michael Jenkins—but that isn’t saying a whole lot. Its like saying Gradkowski is an upgrade over Chad Henne. Early rumblings out of camp is that he has the dropsies… lets hope that subsides. My predictions: 800 yards and 3 TDs (don’t forget Gonzo did come back for another year and he is the TD king).

Greg Little WR CLE – He has got a checked past with the NCAA but that was then and this is the NFL. The Browns are going West Coast and Little should fit well into this system. Masaquoi screwed the pooch last year and Brian Robiskie was a non-factor. With the commitment to Colt Mccoy at QB there will be some growing pains. However, I do feel that Mccoy does have the skill set to make it with the West Coast set. Heckert would have traded for Kolb if he didn’t think Mccoy could do it . Little is 6’2 231lbs so at least we aren’t dealing with the midget factor. I haven’t heard too much out of camp (I have an email out to a beat reporter for Cleveland—i’ll update when I hear back). I honestly believe 800 yards and 5 TDs is not out of the realm of possibility. ****All this goes up in smoke if TO signs with Cleveland as Brownsgab suggests****

Hey Fluckie what do you thin about Torrey Smith on Baltimore. I hear he might start.

I Like Torrey Smith from a Dynasty League standpoint. For your typical PPR redraft league I don’t think he is worth anything until I’m sure he landed the #2 job. If he does he would be worth a late rnd flier

  3. […] have been nursing injuries. This has given Little more time to find a rapport with Colt Mccoy. As a stated in my earlier sleeper post Little is perhaps best equipped to adapt to the new West Coas…. As Matt puts it: I know they are expecting big things from Little, and why not, they have awful […]
