When Fantasy And Reality Collide – Donate to a Good Cause

I’ve been running this blog for 3 years now. Rarely, do I allow fantasy and reality to collide. However, there are always exceptions and this is one of those. A close friend of mine, a fantasy colleague, and neighbor battled valiantly against sinus cancer. After 15 or so surgeries and multiple rounds of radiation and chemotherapy I am pleased that my dear friend is still with us and is now cancer free.

How does this relate to fantasy football? Well as you all may or may not know I work fulltime in the medical profession. Fantasy is an escape from the daily grinds of reality. This is one of the main reasons I love fantasy sports. When one of my fantasy leaguemates dies (Yes, I have lost one already) I attend the funeral. When one of my fantasy leaguemates have a kid I send a gift (well, only if I like the person). So when one of my fantasy leaguemates asks for a favor I oblige. Matt is a cancer survivor and he is giving back by bike racing for Team Livestrong. He is trying to raise $3500 towards cancer research.

I give free advice year long. I don’t ask for payment (though buying me a beer once in a while is always appreciated). This topic is near and dear to my heart. I lost my father a month ago to lung cancer. WE can make a difference and I ask that my followers please donate something to Matt’s cause. Click on this link to donate something. No dollar amount is too small.

Thanks in advance for your help. Lets hope the greedy NFL gets it together this week so I can stop my self imposed moratorium on fantasy football…
