Fitting in Just Fine

Manny is out of St. Pete. The Rays and their organization could have written the season off, blaming early injuries and Manny being Manny, but there’s still hope at the ‘Trop these days and his name is Sam Fuld.

Fuld has caught the eyes of Fantasy owners around the league, becoming the most added player in all leagues in just a week. He’s still available in 15% of leagues so if he’s out there in your FA Pool: GRAB HIM.

The fresh-on-the-scene Fuld came out of Stanford University where he was an All American, set the school record for career runs scored, and set the College World Series record for career hits. He was drafted in 2004 by the Cubs but didn’t debut until 2007 and wasn’t a Ray until the end of last year. He made the roster this year and is now batting leadoff and being utilized in the outfield.

The diabetic outfielder took his opportunity with Manny leaving and is leading the AL in batting average and swipes. The speedster is not only a stud at the plate, but has three top ten defensive plays from each position in the outfield. Im wholeheartedly buying into the hype of “Super Sam” as they call him in Tampa. He is a must start in all leagues that count stolen bases as a category and seems like a player that won’t slow down from this hot start….cough Willie Bloomquist…..
