The Tebow Effect

I have a decision to make. Balls out and play Tebow? Or play it safe and sound and start Freeman. Freeman has been good to me this year. He got me to the promised land with his consistency. In a PPR league he is 18 points NO MATTER WHAT. He has a fantastic matchup in Seattle and I can double dip with Blount. I would have that coveted RB-QB combo.

Tim Tebow however is fools gold or as the fantasy pundits have nicknamed him “A Poor Mans Michael Vick.” Tebow put up 25 fantasy points last week against a respectable Oakland D. Tebow has a premium matchup in Houston this week. Houston’s D is just horrific. It makes the Seattle D look like the JETS. Can Tebow continue to take broken plays into the endzone?

I am going to spend this week reading every article I can find on Tebow. Along with every inch of info on AP and Toby G. My superbowl victory and purse of $2500 comes down to making not 1 but at least 2 correct calls. I have worshipped the fantasy gods well this year. Will they allow me to bring home the hardware? That is the question. If I’m Minnesota I hold out AP. No reason to risk hurting the knee with nothing to play for. Might as well let Toby Go For IT! Toby G is worth 10-15 point in fantasy play this week without AP being active. He is nothing flashy but he may be good enough if you are in my lifeboat. I got a gimpy and questionable Moreno and AP. At this point in the season a Toby G might be just enough.

Rolling the dice and trying to cash in with this cast of characters is ballsy: Tebow, Toby G, Blount, Jennings, Amendola, Witten, NE D and K. I look at the upside I look at players that can give you a breakout game. Tebow COULD give you 30. Witten could also give you 25-30. Dallas don’t got nothing left but a Witten and a Hurd. Expect 15 from Blount and Jennings. Amen is boom or bust with either 9 or 20 points. If Toby G gives ya 10 and the NE DEF and K connection comes through I could end up with 115 which may just may be enough to hold that coveted fantasy trophy up in the air.

—Editor’s Note: Buffalo Wild Wings ha asked me to give their 14 sauces a shot out. Sweet BBQ, Teriyaki, Mild    Parmesan Garlic, Medium, Honey BBQ, Spicy Garlic, Asian Zing, Caribbean Jerk, Hot BBQ, Hot Mango Habanero,        Wild, and Blazin’ –  Buffalo Wild Wings has their own fantasy fantasy league so feel free to check it out. We may be one of the lucky fantasy sites that will be giving away some of their sauces. Tune in for details tomorrow!
