Some Week 12 Winners/Losers

Some Week 12 Winners

Dwayne Bowe – Bowe caught 13 receptions for 170 yards and 3 touchdowns. He’s got 13 touchdowns in the last 7 weeks; and has 14 on the season — last season’s leading touchdown receivers (Randy Moss and Vernon Davis) only caught 13. Benefiting from Bowe’s dominance this week was quarterback Matt Cassel, who threw for 233 yards and 4 touchdowns. Fellow Kansas City Chief Jamaal Charles also had a huge day, rushing for 173 yards and a score. He’s second in rushing yards to Houston’s Arian Foster (1,147 yards), but Charles has gained his 1,021 yards on just 161 carries, 63 carries less than Foster. His YPC average of 6.3 is the highest in the league for backs with more than 100 carries, and is 1.2 YPC clear of second place Foster. On the opposing team, WR¬†Ben Obamanu gained 159 yards through the air and scored a touchdown. He has scores in 3 of his last 4 games.

Jacoby Ford – The Oakland WR had his second gigantic performance of the season, netting 4 balls for 108 yards and a touchdown, and scoring a kickoff-return touchdown. For the opposing Dolphins, RB Ricky Williams rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown, and Davone Bess gained 111 yards through the air (although he failed to score a touchdown).

Peyton Hillis – Hillis gained 194 yards from scrimmage and scored 3 rushing touchdowns in another monster game. He’s got 13 touchdowns this season so far; he had just 7 in his two-year career in Denver.

Arian Foster – While he didn’t score, Foster gained 218 total yards from scrimmage, which is good for a lot of points in most fantasy formats. Before getting ejected for his brawl with Tennessee CB Courtland Finnegan, Houston WR Andre Johnson caught 9 balls for 56 yards and a score.

Tom Brady – The NE quarterback enjoyed a thanksgiving feast of toasted lion, throwing 27 times for 21 completions, 341 yards and 4 touchdowns. He recorded the first perfect quarterback rating of the season, and the second of his career. 3 of his completions went to WR Deion Branch, who turned them into 113 yards and 2 touchdowns. Fellow WR Wes Welker also scored on 2 receptions, catching 8 in total for 90 yards receiving. Patriots RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis was the third New England player to score 2 touchdowns, scoring on 2 of his 12 carries for 59 yards. Tight End Rob Gronkowski also got in on the action, with 5 catches for 65 yards. All was not awful for the opposing Lions, who had WR Calvin Johnson score on one of his 4 receptions for 81 yards, and RB Maurice Morris score twice with 9 carries for 55 yards.

Some Week 12 Losers

The Tennessee Titans Offense – In the 3rd shutout in the last 2 weeks, Houston ruined the hopes of Chris Johnson and Randy Moss owners everywhere. Johnson had 7 carries for just 5 yards and no score before leaving the game in the second quarter. Moss caught just 3 balls for 23 yards, and looked just about as tired and disinterested as he has every week since leaving the Patriots in week 5 of the season. In his 7 starts since then, Moss has 17 receptions for 223 yards and 2 touchdowns. And to anyone who spot-started Tennessee QB Rusty Smith; let his 138 yards and 3 interceptions be any evidence you needed not to pick up a sixth-round, third-string rookie QB ever again.

Philip Rivers – His 185 yards with 0 TDs or INTs were good for his lowest fantasy score of 2010. It was the first time this year he’d scored less than 10 fantasy points, and just the second time he’d scored less than 20 points.

Jarvarris James – The Indianapolis Colts’ third/fourth string running back who seemed like a good idea at one point this season rushed twice for 0 yards, and lost a fumble.

Reggie Bush – After a 9 game absence due to a fractured fibula, Bush didn’t exactly light the world on fire in his NFL return. He had 1 carry for 1 yard, 1 catch for 12 yards, and lost a fumble. Thats good for a negative score in most formats.
