CJ Owners Should Be Feeling Randy

I am a proud Chris Johnson owner. Come to think of it, I am a proud Johnson owner x 2. Yes, I now have him in two leagues thanks to the Fantasy Flunky who yesterday graciously traded me CJ (along with Santonio Holmes) for Andre Johnson and Johnny Knox. The Flunky obviously wasn’t doing his homework. He failed to remember that the Titans started out 0-6 last season before getting red hot and winning 8 of their last 10. Chris Johnson was already going to be the number one running back for the final third of the season thanks to a cupcake schedule especially during the fantasy football playoffs. Now with the addition of Moss, teams can’t load the box anymore. They will be forced to respect the pass which will make CJ all the more dominating.

Moss owners, on the other hand, shouldn’t expect too much from this move. In hindsight everyone should have curbed their expectation when he was moved to Minnesota. Receivers often take several weeks to get adjusted to a new offense. It’s the reason the trade deadline is pushed up so much earlier than other sports. If you can find someone eager to make a move for Moss, SELL HIGH. His numbers can’t get much worse but they won’t be anything like they were in his heyday with the Pats.

Santonio Holmes, a player thrown in by the Flunkie started out the year in a similar situation than Moss. He was traded to a new team (NYJ) and then had to sit out for four games on suspension. It’s no surprise his numbers have been pedestrian so far. But fear not, Holmes owners. His breakout is coming. The Flunkie doesn’t buy it and has graciously spotted me 10 points in a bet where my Holmes faces off against Patrick Crayton. This will be the second stupid bet Flunkie has made with me in the past month. The other was Brees vs. Vick (Week 6 to Week 13). As the 2008 GFL Champion Dave Mandell would put it, “Thank you for your donation.”
