Pickups from the Waiver

So week 7 is in the books. Time to get ready for week 8 AND THE PLAYOFF PUSH. I’m 4-3 in my 3 PPR leagues and 6-1 in my TD only. I’m confident that I will make the playoffs in all 4 leagues. At least I know writing this blog does benefit me. I gotta call a spade a spade. I got straight up lucky this week….Jason Witten bailed my bleep out. I needed 14.5 points to win and Witten came with 24.5. I never thought I would say this but I love you Mr Witten from the hated Cowgirls who are now 1-5…hahahaha

While on the Witten wagon the loss of Romo helps his VALUE TREMENDOUSLY. Kitna is going to be pressured and will be uncomfortable at least initially. Kitna is a serviceable backup and we all know the success he had with the Lions 2-3 years ago. Kitna has weapons there is no doubt about that. I do think that having a pass catching TE over the middle will benefit him. Expect Witten’s numbers to rise at least in the short term. Kitna will be a viable fantasy QB the rest of the way. Just give him a few weeks to get the offense to his liking.

Patrick Crayton delivered this week and he is in line for another good week. Naane will be back but Coach Norv said he doubts Floyd will be ready to roll. So “tentitively” pencil Crayton in for another 15 point game.

I’m in a state of shock with the Buffalo Bills. Maybe Chan Gailey did know what he was doing when he cut Trent Edwards. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been a fantasy stud delivering 37, 27, and 25 points in the last 3 games. He has single handly brought back the Bills passing game. Dare I say Steve Johnson and Lee Evans are startable WR3 this week? The Bills are playing KC. KC has a good D but so does Baltimore and Fitzpatrick shredded it.

Mr Blount is back on the radar again. Hate to say it but I just don’t believe the hype. Does Caddilac Williams suck? YUPPERS. I don’t believe Raheem Morris will bench Caddy for Mr. Blount or the previously hyped Huggy Bear. Blount has shown flashes. He scored against Pitt and he was the most effective runner last week against STL.

James Jones….oh James Jones. The week I say he is the sneaky play he scores ZERO points. Then he produces 15 points. I just don’t know what he is going to do week to week.

The Carolina passing situation has me intrigued. With Steve Smith back and Matt Moore back under center Gettis and Lafell both had respectable passing yardage. I won’t touch Carolina WRs with a 10 foot pole but some of ya’all folks might be desperate enough.

Jordan Shipley Jordan Shipley owe how I sung your praises early in the preseason as a PPR machine similiar in makeup to a healthy Wes Welker. I’m glad to see you are finally making me a man of my word. Now if the rest of my preseason rookie WRs could do the same.

I’ve sung my love of Josh Freeman all year. I am so confident in him that I’m sitting Brady the rest of the way and rolling with my good ole boy Josh Freeman. He is young and will make some mistakes. At the end of the day Caddy Williams is ineffective and Freeman will not only have to throw the ball more then most QBs but he will have to use his legs as well.

(sidebar: apologize for spelling errors and no sneaky pic- I have limited internet access and these luxuries slow me down 🙂

Alas I almost forgot….Save the best for last. With all the injuries on Indy grab Anthony Gonzalez. I see his value skyrocketing and this is the time to grab him as Indy is coming off the bye. I see the potential for WR2 numbers the rest of the year.
