Waiver Wire Claims

This week it isn’t rocket science. The teams that are the most dinged up is where I prey. Jason Avant  is now going to start as the #2WR in Philly. Maclin moves up to the #1 WR spot while DeSean Jackson is out. It looks like Jackson won’t be on the field for at least 3 weeks. I wouldn’t be shocked if it is more like 6 weeks. I haven’t seen a hit that severe in all my years of watching football. Avant is definitely worth a waiver claim and I would feel confident starting him this week. Avant isn’t a speedster but he is sure handed and tough. He will at least put up 10-15 fantasy points this week.

I discussed Patrick Crayton  as being a 1 week play last week. Due to Floyd and Gates injuries he will be thrust into at least a WR2 role if not a WR1. I’m not sure yet whether Naane or Floyd are going to play this week. I can tell you this much I don’t think both are going to play. This means that Crayton will be of value again this week. Crayton put up 17 fantasy points last week and I see more of the same this week.

Danario Alexander, a rookie WR, activated from St Louis (who was first brought to our attention by JS a daily reader) has emerged as a deep threat option for St Louis. He had 4 catches for 72 yards and a TD. St Louis is playing Tampa Bay so this is another good matchup for Alexander. I still believe in  Amendola  as a PPR guy in St Louis though he had a quiet week. If your a gambler like myself Alexander is worth a start.

Deion Branch is also worth picking up as he reunion with Tom Brady is in full effect. Branch put up 24 points this week. I doubt Branch will continue at this torrid pace but I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge him in the waiver wire pickups.

I alread mentioned Woodhead in my previous piece so he is also an obvious pickup. As I find more waiver players I’ll be back. On a side note if anyone is interested in writing for this site let me know. The more writers and opinions the merrier. Also, if I could be shameless feel free to friend us at Facebook. We have been stuck with 15 friends for the last month and I would love to see that number grow!

I’m kinda addicted to fantasy NFL, but I haven’t blogged anything yet.
I could help you with articles on various stuff. I am not experienced with any IDP topics, but I’m a hawk on the waiver wire. If it’s any indication on my skill level, I’m really down on Tom Brady and most Patriots right now. I’m playing Cassell versus Jacksonville this week and I’m thinking about sitting Welker too.
I also was one of the suckers who got burned by Sam Bradford in Detroit….
