Flukie’s Favre Fibbets Week 5

Well it’s been an interesting week. As I dig I find more and more bizarre things. You want to see Brett Favre’s meat? I don’t know why you would but it made the front page of the NY Post so it has got to be legit. The wacky world of txt messages and myspace. You would think a grandfather would know better? Alas, he is a great player but dumb as a bleeping brick. Jenn Sterger does look eaaarrrilly like his wife….hence I believe this story is true. Wanna see more of Jenn Sterger? Google is an amazing thing. There won’t be any mysteries after that search.

So Deion Branch is being rumored to be traded to the Pats. If Seattle gets anything for Branch I’ll be impressed. This does follow the original Patriots game plan. One may forget but Brady didn’t truly have great receivers until Moss appeared. This means that the Pats are a touch nervous with Tate and they want some insurance in case he flops or Welker goes down. Smart play on Belichick. This is why I respect him a great deal. He always hedges his bets.

So my favorite quote of the day is from rotoworld: “With Steve Smith (ankle) out this week, both rookies are expected to start, leaving newly signed David Clowney in the No. 3 role. Gettis has seven catches for 87 yards on 16 targets while LaFell has just 4 receptions and 67 yard on 15 targets. This passing offense is a hot mess.” When David Clowney is your #3 WR you NFL team is BAD….very BAD. I don’t see Gettis, Clowney, or LaFell having ANY VALUE. I would start all 3 Bills receivers over this trio of fantasy death. Rotoworld says it best…..the Panthers passing game is “a hot mess.” This hurts the running game as well. I hate to say it but Deangelo Williams is at best a RB3 and Jonathan Stewart isn’t even startable.

I have the luxury of owning LT and Torain. My brain says start LT and my heart says Torain. I’m not Favre so I’m going to start LT. However, this is the time to trade LT. Either LT breaks down or Greene slowly works his way back in the favor of Coach “big balls.”  LT will have his usual 15 points against a solid run D. Mainly because he is so involved in the passing game. The player to watch this game (except the obvious Randy Moss) is Santonio Holmes. Some people say they will bring him back slowly. I doubt it. He will be in full bore. I’m starting Holmes on a gut call. Holmes is the most talented WR in the Jets. Edwards has played well but old man faithful (Cotchery) will except his role on the bench and Holmes will explode against a weak MIN secondary.

David Anderson may be a sneaky play this week. It looks like AJ will play this week but Jacoby Jones will not. This means that Anderson will get some action as the slot receiver. The best WR to play is Kevin Walter this week. I talked about him early this year as a sleeper and he has produced.  Houston is playing the Giants. Tough to get a good read on which NYG team we are going to see. I wouldn’t play Anderson but some of you may be in a deep leagues and may be looking at scraps. Just make sure you check on Sunday to make sure Jacoby Jones is out.
