The MJD – Jennings Recovery Wagon/ Mike Hart Who?

If you are the proud owner of Greg Jennings and MJD I have one word of advice…..RELAX! Not every player starts out gang busters. I know the sharks are circling looking to take them off your hands for the likes of Mark Clayton, Chad Ochocinco, and Ladanian Tomlinson. Be firm and don’t fall for the nega-fantasy-dom.

MJD started slow last year and it is becoming a theme of his career. In 2009 he didn’t break out until week 3 with a 3 TD performance. After he broke out with 3 TDs he put up a string of of 6 out of 7 games with a TD and he rushed for 644 yards in that span. Granted, I feel that the Jags are MUCH worse than they were in 2009. Even with that being said MJD will bounce back to fantasy greatness. With any luck it will happen this week against Indy. He needs David Garrad to get his ass in gear and actually attempt to establish a passing game. If Garrard can pass then the Colts won’t be able to put 8 in the box. MJD historically has played well against the Colts. I’m betting on MJD this week to get back to fantasy relevance.

Greg Jennings also started slow last year. He didn’t get it going until week 7.  However in 2008 he had 25 catches for 482 yards in his first 4 games. GJ isn’t as bad as his 2009 numbers but isn’t as good as is 2008. He will end the year somewhere in the middle. I’m still a Jennings guy and I’m not wavering. In a league where WRs are becoming harder and harder to come by GJ is stable. I have accepted that he isn’t a “true” elite receiver in the NFL. He is merely a good receiver. A good receiver that can put up 1100 and 7 TDs is peaches in my book.  He will give you those number by years end and I doubt that Clayton and Ochocinco will give you that. Don’t give up on GJ. Trust me he will be more palatable after GB whips up on Detroit this week.

I’ll give you my last minute subs and scrubs tomorrow but Mike Hart may end up a starter this week. Addai is a game time decision and Donald Brown has already been ruled out for this week. I’m not saying that Indy runs the ball but Hart may vulture a TD this week. Considering I didn’t know his name until an hour ago he may well be worth a start if you are desperate a RB. Hart is 5’9  206lbs and went to Michigan. That is about all I know. His 3 year stats are sad – 30 carries, 83 yards, and a TD. As we all know stats don’t matter to be a one week wonder in fantasy play. I smell the first one week wonder of the 2010 fantasy year. Hop on him flukesters before he is the fantasy talk of the week!
