The RB Uncertainty Flex Play

There isn’t much to report except for the gluttony of banged up RBS. This leads to some dicey flex plays this week. Moreno is down with a hammy injury (not sure which hammy but I assume it is the same one). My gut says that Buckhalter will see the majority of the carries. Although rotoworld disagrees and says Maroney will get the bulk of the carries. They give some mumbo jumbo that Maroney has been a work horse for McDAniels in the past. I guess this is a feasible argument but fantasy player beware. To be honest I wouldn’t start either one. My RB play of the week is Fred Taylor and I am not waivering on that recommendation.

Beanie Wells had arthroscopic surgery on his knee. That is why he has been so slow to come back from injury. He is going to play a bit this week but it won’t affect Hightower’s production in the least. If you have Hightower, Fred Taylor, Buckhalter, and Maroney I would rank them the following: Hightower, Taylor, Buck, Maroney. Watch the Arizona situation closely because Hightower may only have three or so weeks left of fantasy football relevance. If Wells is truly recovered he may slide into that role. Consider selling Hightower while his value is high.

The GB RB situation is getting sadder and sadder each week. Jackson isn’t a every down back. Kuhn will steal the goal line carries. Kuhn is also averaging more yards per run (4.6 yards vs 4.3). Add Nance to that situation and you have a RBBC nightmare. The only player I mildly like here is Kuhn for the goal line carries. This is an advantage for TD only leagues. For PPR league I avoid the whole mess.

Hasselback and Hill are my QB waiver wire plays of the week.  Hasselback did throw 3 INTs last week but he should bounce back fine against a SD defense that is soft against the pass. I’m not in love with this pick but waivers is a dicey topic. My preferred play is Shaun Hill. Detroit will have to throw the cover off the ball to stay close with MIN. In reality they will be behind in this game even with a impaired MIN offense. Hill will put up good numbers back to back weeks. Play Hill with relative confidence if you are feeling the pain of QB injuries.

If anything breaking happens Sunday I will bring it to you before kickoff.
