A Second Opinion

Let’s dissect some of the Flukie’s Flops from his Top 100:

8. Michael Turner – For a list emphasizing wide receivers, Turner is definitely a bit of a reach here especially in PPR leagues.

18. Miles Austin – Let someone else burn a second rounder on a likely “one hit wonder.” Dez Bryant is going to eat into his receptions and Witten’s TD total is surely to improve. Austin’s impressive numbers from ’09 are unlikely to be duplicated.

42. Matt Forte – Maybe Flukie doesn’t realize Chester Taylor signed with the Bears. Taylor’s bread and butter is catching passes. So is Forte’s. Expect these two to cancel each other out.

46. Terrell Owens – First overrated. Then underrated. Now back to being overrated. I am all for taking a shot on T.O., but burning a third rounder on him is lunacy.

50. Hines Ward – Everything you read will have you believe Ward can overcome old age, playing with a backup quarterback for a chunk of the season, and the team returning to smash mouth football. Pass.

75. Carnell “Cadillac” Williams – Newsflash: The Bucs stinks and none of their running backs will be worth a lick.

94. Arian Foster – I will be pulling for him since I just traded for his services in my keeper league, but he is unlikely to flourish in an unpredictable three headed monster in Houston.

@Scotty – nice job calling me out on TO. But lets not forget that I never imagined he would land in what i would call “the perfect location” for his dysfunction!

Take a break from the Gab for a bit and look at how in demand your opinion becomes.

For what it’s worth, in a ppr league, Hines Ward will be a great pick as a 4th-5th round pick, which is where 50 over all in Greg’s rankings places him. That makes him your 2nd or 3rd WR. Ward catches a lot of balls especially with the absence of Holmes. In standard leagues, wait another round or two.

Austin at 18 overall (a second round pick and probably your #1 WR) is a little scary, but I am not overly scared of Bryant especially with an injury slowing down his progress. Love Austin in the 3rd round though.

    Cadillac blows.

I don’t have problem with Foster at 94th. He came on like gangbusters at the end of ’09, Slaton may still piss off the coach by being a fumble machine, and Ben Tate might not be ready to be anointed yet. As a starter on your team I don’t like him, but Foster is a reserve with huge upside.
