Big Names Big Busts

People in fantasy sports have a tendency to get caught up in a name. But some big names are misleading. I just read a great piece on walterfootball which lists all the reasons CJ won’t repeat his 2100 yard performance. As Walter so graciously explained history is just not on CJ’s side. I would rather draft a MJD, AP, or Ray Rice as he suggests. I’m a betting man and believe in catching the next lightening in a bottle. Most owners are salivating over drafting a CJ this year. I FIRMLY believe in bucking the obvious play and look elsewhere with the first 3 picks. You will thank me later.

My lightening RB pick this year – Ryan Matthews and Shonne Green. I would dare to draft either player late in round 1 or early in round 2. Fantasy is a form of gambling and Green and Matthews are worth the gamble.

I also have a bad vibe about Reggie Wayne, Chad Ochocinco, TJ Housh, Wes Welker, Santonio Holmes, Larry Fitzgerald and Donald Driver. Reggie Wayne is on the decline. He wants a new contract because he knows his career is on the downward trend. Granted, he won’t fall off into fantasy oblivion just yet but his numbers will fall. Ochocinco is just done. He is more interested in TV shows then his game. TJ Housh’s sports hernia will flare up. Compound that with less then stellar QB play and he’s in trouble. Wes Welker may be ok by week 5 but is just too much of a wildcard for me to play for. Santonio Holmes is going to a team that is run first pass when desperate. Not a recipe for success. Larry Fitz has the poor fortune of Matt Leinhart throwing him balls. Of all the receivers I mentioned I do have the most hope for Fitz. He could rise from the ashes and be productive. But I dare to say his ex-patriot Anquan Boldin will have very similar numbers and you will be able to draft him in round 3 as opposed to round 1 (better value). Donald Driver’s career is over. The ancient one will blow away like dust off your dresser. James Jones will overtake him by week 6.

I am glad the Flukie likes my boy Matthews. Also, never count out TJ “championship” who’s your daddy.

James Jones Sucks. Jordy Nelson RULES!!!!

Darren Sproles will catch all the balls in a PPR leaugue. Untill Ryan Mathews shows he can pass protect I would not touch him in Round 1 2 or 3.

I would Rather draft Jonathan Stewart in round 4 or 5 then Shonn Green in round 2. Sorry fantasy Flukie not a fan of your predictions.

different strokes for different folks. it seems ur more the conservative type Mr Slater…Can’t argue bout Stewart. He may have a HUGE year. Especially since this is DWil’s last year under contract.
